The Butterfly Appeal for About Face (2005-2008)
The Butterfly Appeal for About Face was created in 2005 as a capital appeal with the purpose of raising sufficient funds to enable the charity to open its own centre in Poole. It was supported throughout by the Daily Echo, Bournemouth and the Advertiser. In December 2008 - that dream became a reality.
Thanks to the generosity of many contributors, About Face was able to purchase a property conveniently located near Poole Hospital. The High Sheriff of Dorset officially opened the Centre on Wednesday 3 December 2008. Some 200 supporter guests attended the ceremony, and later toured the Centre.
Several successful events in support of the Appeal, including exciting overseas treks, a Motor Sports Dinner and various sporting events comprised more than three years of activity by hundreds of committed supporters.
